The Speakers

Lynette has a BA in Humanities and a MA in Literature from Midwestern State University. She has been an organic gardener for 38 years and  Lynette is a Master Naturalist and enjoys her volunteer  work at Balcones Canyonlands National Wildlife Refuge . She lives a few miles from beautiful Candlelight Ranch and  cares about supporting the Hill Country community.  Lynette is an avid hiker and enjoys traveling the world with her son and friends .  Lynette is passionate about changing the world through teaching others how to love nature and live more sustainable lives and loves being our Ranch Program Director.

Born and raised in Houston, Don Barr moved to Austin in 1975 after spending 18 summers as a camper, counselor, and camp director at a private camp near Kerrville, TX. After a few years in the construction business, he became a commercial real estate broker specializing in land sales and then office and warehouse properties in the Austin area.

After helping to establish Candlelight Ranch, he realized he had found his true calling. He is still active in real estate investments, but spends the majority of his time as a volunteer for Candlelight Ranch both as a Board Member and with various programs at the Ranch.

This program was arranged by Rotarian Andy Hoffmans.
